Q: How are Plasticase products made?

A: Plasticase's line of carrying cases are made from virgin polypropylene plastic material and molded by process of injection using the latest injection molding technology.

Q: What are the dimensions of all cases?

A: Model numbers and specifications for each product are available on our website. For your convenience, our model numbers and product specifications can also be found in our detailed Data Sheets (PDF format) available for download.

Q: Do you offer a warranty on your light and medium duty cases?

A: Plasticase product warranty covers construction and materials of any Plasticase product to the original purchaser, providing the case has been used under normal circumstances. Any abnormal wear, or abuse of any kind, will void the warranty.

Q: What are the advantages of choosing plastic?

A: The price is a fraction of what you would pay for a metal or fabricated product; plastic is impervious to corrosion, has a high strength/weight ratio, is odorless, tasteless and non-toxic; plastic is also dent resistant and offers very good shock resistance. Plastic is also easily recyclable, making it more environmentally friendly than other materials.

Q: How can I buy Plasticase products?

A: You can order online direct (from our products section), by email, fax or phone.

Q: How are the orders shipped?

A: Most orders are shipped via UPS or FEDEX ground service. Larger orders are sent LTL or full truck load via common carrier.

Q: I would need to see a sample before I order. Is that possible?

A: Absolutely. Samples are usually sent free of charge and sent freight collect on UPS or FedEx overnight. Just provide us with your courier account number. If the case is available for the free sample program click on the link beside the "add to cart" icon.

Q: What methods of payment do you offer?

A: Upon receipt of your order, our sales department will issue a "Proforma" invoice showing all charges including freight. Depending on when this order is needed, you can then forward payment by mail, Express Courier or charge to your Visa, MasterCard or American Express. All new customers must pay their first order in advance either by cheque, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Credit terms are available on approved credit. Q: How long does it take to get my order?

A: All products are in stock in most colors, and in sufficient quantities to fill and ship most orders within 48 hours. Larger orders usually require more time depending on production lead times.

Q: Can you send me extra latches or spare parts?

A: Replacement parts are always available.

Q: I need to fit various components inside a case to make a kit. Do you offer help in the development of an insert?

A: Custom inserts are available and our design department can engineer your layout. Just send us your components or part drawings and we will create a preliminary layout drawing followed with a quote.

Q: What secondary operations are available from Plasticase?

A: Silk-screen printing, labeling / decals, custom thermoformed inserts, pre-scored 'pick and pluck' foam inserts, assembly and distribution (drop-shipping), case customization and subcontract molding.

Q: Do you make custom cases?

A: Plasticase welcomes new projects. Not only do we make custom cases for a variety of applications and customers, but our in-house design department can also provide help and assistance in the development of other injection-molded products.

Q: Does Plasticase do custom applications?

A: Yes, Plasticase has an experienced design and engineering staff as well as tool and die makers to satisfy any custom requirements. Our state of the art molding plant is equipped with the latest technology and the finest equipment available.

Q: How do I purchase NANUK protective cases?

NANUK cases can be purchased through our authorized dealers.

Q:What does NANUK mean?

NANUK means polar bear in the Inuit language, an animal that thrives in the harsh arctic environment.

Q:Where are NANUK durable cases manufactured?

All NANUK hard sided cases are manufactured at Plasticase’s factory in Quebec, Canada.

Q:How many sizes of NANUK transportable cases are there?

As of 2016, there are currently 20 distinct Nanuk sizes available. We are always developing new designs so new sizes of transportable cases will be added every year.

Q:What colors are available for NANUK?

All NANUK cases are available in six colors: black, graphite, silver, olive, orange and yellow. Several cases are also available in lime green, blue, red and tan. Custom colors can also be developed with a minimum order.

Q:What colors are available for NANUKNANO?

All NANUKNANO cases are available in eight colors: black, white, clear, red, orange, blue, purple, lime*. Custom colors can also be developed with a minimum order. Translucent color.

Q:Which NANUK size should I purchase?

The NANUK protective cases for your application should take into account the size of your components and allow for a layer of foam between 1 and 2 inches all around to adequately protect your equipment. Highly sensitive equipment should allow for more foam to allow for extra protection.

Q:What are NANUK tough cases made of?

Plasticase developed the NK-7 resin specifically for Nanuk. This resin is a polypropylene based material that has been enhanced with several performance additives that increase toughness, impact resistance while remaining lightweight. The NK-7 resin has been engineered to perform in the harshest of environmental extremes, making these great military, industrial and medical equipment cases.

Q:What is a Powerclaw latch?

The patented PowerClaw latches clamp the waterproof cases tightly closed using compressive force while the integrated slide lock prevents the case from opening during transport or when dropped. The super tough nylon construction ensures your precious items remain safely inside the protective cases no matter where the journey takes you.

Q:How does the automatic pressure release system work?

Changes in altitude and geographic location create a vacuum which can effectively seal watertight cases shut. NANUK’s integrated auto-pressure valve equalizes this atmospheric pressure difference. Using state-of-the-art technology, the micro vent allows air to pass through while preventing water from entering. Our products using the automatic pressure release system make excellent dive cases.

Q:Do you have larger instrument or equipment cases with wheels and a pullout handle?

Yes! Our 935 carry on case is perfect for bringing your valuables on board with you while our new 950 and 960 cargo cases are ideal for checking in your fragile larger equipment.

Q:What is the standard foam supplied with NANUK tough cases?

NANUK tough cases can be purchased with or without protective foam. The optional high quality polyurethane foam is multi-layered to ensure easy customization. The multi-layered set of customizable inserts includes a pre-scored removable layer. This layer consists of foam squares that can be removed in various configurations to accommodate the contents of the case.

Q:Can I get my foam custom cut to fit my components precisely?

Our team of case interior specialists can work with you to develop a custom foam insert for your application using the right type and density of foam. If you require custom foam for an OEM application or to protect complex or intricate components, contact us to see how we can help you.

Q:What options are available to compliment the NANUK protective case line?

Shoulder strap | The optional stretchable neoprene comfort shoulder strap reduces fatigue when transporting your case. The shoulder strap can easily be attached to most NANUK hard sided cases without any additional hardware.

TSA padlocks | TSA padlocks offer the security of a padlock but can easily be opened and inspected by airport security and then locked again. A visual indicator lets you know when the case has been opened with a TSA key.

Padded dividers | If you require compartmentalized protective organization of your components or equipment, our padded dividers are the right choice. Easily tailored to your needs with repositionable tongue and groove fasteners, our padded dividers are designed to easily organize and protect your equipment.

Aluminum waterproof panel kit | A panel kit can easily be added to most of our industrial cases thanks to our integrated bezel system. Included in our aluminum waterproof panel kit is a contoured 1/8” thick aluminum panel with mounting screws and an adhesive backed die-cut waterproofing gasket.

Lexan waterproof panel kit | A panel kit can easily be added to most of our industrial cases thanks to our integrated bezel system. Included in our Lexan waterproof panel kit is a contoured 3/16” thick polycarbonate panel with mounting screws and an adhesive backed die-cut waterproofing gasket.

Q:What is the warranty for NANUK equipment cases?

Q:What is the lid depth for each of the NANUK instrument cases? Nanuk 903 = 0.5”(13mm)

Q:What makes NANUK’s gasket unique?

The waterproof seal used in all Nanuk equipment cases is custom designed to fit our cases. The high quality EPDM material resists deformation and fatigue of the seal to ensure a watertight seal that will last.

Q:What tests or specifications do the NANUK equipment cases meet?

NANUK equipment cases have been tested and cerftified by an independent laboratory for the following specifications;

Q:What is the integrated bezel system?

All NANUK instrument cases come standard with an integrated bezel system. This detail on the lower portion of the case allows a panel kit to be easily installed without having to install a secondary bracket or drill holes in the side of the case. The optional NANUK waterproof cases panel kit can easily installed into 13 NANUK case sizes (not available for 990 and 995).

Q:What are typical applications for the integrated bezel system?

The integrated bezel system is perfect for users who need to mount electronic, measurement and test equipment inside the protective cases. The case can then be used as an independent mobile test or control unit.

Q:What kind of glue will adhere to the inside of the NANUK equipment cases?

For bonding multiple layers of foam we recommend 3M Spray 90 adhesive. For bonding foam to the inside of the case we recommend 3M Spray 90 adhesive. Flame treatment of the case is recommended to increase the strength of the bond. Do not flame treat the foam.
